Heaven on Earth

Canoa is an absolutely surreal town. We have only been here two days and words cannot describe how gorgeous/relaxing/amazing the experience has been. I feel that I could live here forever.

This place is the perfect blend of the dream vacation destination while still being inexpensive and Ecuadorian in nature. For example, we can still easily stick to our budget of $25 each a day, and that includes a room and eating out on the town twice a day. English speakers are abundant as many of the locals are expats. This is fabulous news for us, as we can finally have full conversations with  people other than each other!

The first thing that we did when we arrived was seek out activities to fill our days. Yoga, surfing lessons and volunteering at a local bar/restaurant in exchange for free food and surfboards are all in the works. I also plan on working on my tan and reading plenty of books. If I never come home you know where to find me…

At some point in the distant future, do come home. But have a great time in the meantime. Volunteering at a bar …. community service! How noble/practical/fun!
